Critical Current: Week of Sept 26-30th, 2016
News literacy is the ability to be able to understand the many aspects of the news. With news come out 24/7 cycle, we need to able to tell if a source is credible or not. As well as understanding multiple perspectives of others. In order to be a informed person, we need to be able to learn how to critically analyze texts and question the credibility of sources.
Critical Current: Week of October 31 and November 1-4

1. Election day is on a Tuesday.
2. Pope Frances opposed woman becoming priest, during his time in Sweden.
3. Migrants in France are being cleared to stop them from entering Britain. There are riots and tear gas is being used by the police.
4. FBI director James Comey has gone into investigation about Clinton's emails.
5. In Australia, the company Coca Cola has created a new infusion of ginger Coca Cola.
6. In California, Loretta Sanchez and Kamala Harris are competing for US senate.
7. Airbnb avoided a class-action lawsuit for racial discrimination. When federal judges ruled out the company's policy prohibiting passengers from suing them.
8. South Korea president Park Geun-hye, addresses in speech about scandal which will threaten her presidency. Having a former assistant Choi Soon-Sil who is accused of meddling in state affairs.
9. Finally after a 108 years, the Chicago Cubs win the world series.
